The first coloring appointment always includes a conversation before we begin. Rachel examines the wig's condition, the current shade, and what you want to achieve. Sometimes a single coloring session is enough — and sometimes, to go from dark blonde to light blonde, the process must be split into two sessions to avoid damaging the hair.
After coloring: a deep moisture treatment. After the treatment: cutting and stabilizing the shape. And before you leave — you see the final wig from every angle in natural light. We don't rush, and we don't let you leave unless you're sure.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will the coloring last as long as it does on natural hair?
Usually better — there's no scalp oil to cause rapid fading, and no daily washing. Professional balayage on a European-hair wig can last 8-12 months.
When is coloring not recommended?
If the wig is in poor structural condition (very split ends, damaged hair), we restore first, then color. We'll always tell you honestly if coloring isn't a good idea right now.
Can a previously colored wig be re-colored?
Absolutely — but it's important to know what colors were used before, because the wrong combination can produce surprising results. If you don't know — come for a preliminary check.
How long does a coloring appointment take?
Highlights/balayage: 3-4 hours. Full color: 2-3 hours. Gloss only: 1-1.5 hours. We recommend booking ahead so we don't have to rush.
