When Does a Wig Need Restoration?
A wig doesn't reach the end of its life in a single day. The signs build up gradually — hair that lost its shine, faded color, split ends, difficulty holding styling, tangles that become impossible. Most clients come to us in the third or fourth year of a wig, when its foundation is still good but it needs deep care.
The good news: a quality European-hair wig can live 5-10 years — if it receives restoration treatment every 18-24 months. The less-good news: wigs that don't receive restoration wear out within 2-3 years, even expensive ones. The treatment is what makes the difference.

Professional deep cleaning
A wig collects oil residue, styling products, dust, and chlorine from water. Home washing doesn't go all the way down. Professional deep cleaning removes everything that's accumulated and restores lightness and volume to the hair.
Deep moisture treatment
Wig hair doesn't receive moisture from the scalp. Without external treatment, it slowly dries out. We provide professional moisture treatments that return softness and shine to every cuticle. The difference is visible and noticeable after the first treatment.
Split-end restoration
Split ends make a wig look unkempt. We do gentle restoration trimming — minimal but precise — that removes the damage without changing the overall length.
Cap repair
Repair of torn lace, loose tracks, broken combs, stretched bands. The cap is the foundation — without it the wig cannot sit properly. We repair, reinforce, and sometimes replace entire sections of the cap.
Re-coloring of faded wigs
After a few years, color fades — especially from sun exposure. We restore the original color, or use the opportunity to update to a new shade that suits you now.
Smoothing & structure realignment
Wigs that have lost their shape — frizzing, curling unwantedly, not falling correctly — receive smoothing and structure realignment treatment that returns them to their original form.

The first appointment is always an assessment. Rachel looks at the wig — checking the cap condition, hair quality, existing damage, color, and what you personally want. She explains what's possible, what isn't worth doing, and how much it will cost. If there's an honest reason why a new one is better — she'll tell you. That honesty is part of our brand.
After agreement, the wig stays with us for full restoration treatment. The process takes 1-3 weeks depending on the scope of the work. When it's ready, you come back to pick it up, try it in the mirror, and if something needs final adjustment — we do it on the spot.

How do I know if it's worth restoring or better to buy new?
If the cap is in good condition and the hair is fundamentally good quality — it's worth restoring. If the cap is completely worn or the hair is very damaged, sometimes new is better. Initial assessment with us is free.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the scope — from basic cleaning to full restoration with re-coloring. During the initial assessment you get a precise quote before we begin.
Will restoration make the wig look brand new?
Very close — sometimes even better than you remembered. But restoration isn't magic — if the wig was in very poor condition, the result will be "a wig in good condition," not "a brand-new wig." We always give an honest assessment.
How often should restoration be done?
Daily wig: every 12-18 months. Event-only wig: every 24-36 months. If you're unsure — come for a periodic check, and even if no treatment is needed, you'll get an honest answer.
